Ostrich Leg Skins in Current Stock – If American Alligator is the King of exotic leathers then to my mind, Ostrich Leg skin is surely Queen<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Ostrich Leg shin is strong soft and very durable and shows incredible patterning with large scales and small grain pebbling, which results in a unique and visually compelling strap.\u00a0 Based upon the success of our SuperMatte Alligator and SuperMatte Teju Lizard, we have collaborated with an Italian Tannery to develop this great finish in Ostrich Leg skin.\u00a0 We Currently offer this finish in Carbon Black and Deep Atlantic Blue and expect to be adding additional colors in the future.\u00a0 The SuperMatte Ostrich, like its Alligator and lizard counterparts, is extremely durable, has a great hand feel, and is highly water-resistant.<\/p>\n

Our below reference Deep Atlantic Blue SuperMatte Ostrich Leg Skins have become so popular with our customers that we’ve decided to add a darker color version, which I have named Navy SuperMatte Ostrich Leg.\u00a0 This, I think will be especially welcome for those customers whose watch has a darker Navy-colored dial.\u00a0 This color shows a bit of black between the scales which gives this color a really great two-tone effect.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Deep Atlantic Blue SuperMatte<\/strong><\/em> shares the same gorgeous finish as the Carbon Black, but in a deep blue that while dark will not be mistaken for Black and has not a hint of red, which is an issue I have with many Navy Blues \u2013 sometimes they are so dark, they can be mistaken in some light for black and sometimes, they show a hint of red or purple which I don\u2019t like at all.\u00a0 No, Andrea and I searched for weeks for just the right color to provide a sample, and have provided it, our tannery matched it perfectly!\u00a0 Needless to say, I could not be happier.<\/p>\n

Navy Blue SuperMatte Ostrich Leg skin<\/strong>: Based on the success of our recently introduced Deep Atlantic Blue SuperMatte Ostrich Leg skin referenced directly above, I have decided to add a new Navy Blue SuperMatte Ostrich Leg.\u00a0 This new color really adds a great new darker blue color option to the mix for those seeking a wonderful blue strap.<\/p>\n

This is a new material for us, but already I have straps on order from this great new Navy blue option, so I will be posting up some photos as soon as I’ve completed a strap.<\/p>\n

The SuperMatte Carbon black<\/strong><\/em> is perfectly finished deep black with not a hint of shine and a beautiful hand that is wonderfully tactile.\u00a0 This is the same finish that I so love that we offer in both Alligator and Teju Lizard. Due to the nature of the SuperMatte finish, the skins used must be essentially flawless, as any imperfection or flaw in the surface of the leather will be amplified when finished in SuperMatte.\u00a0 As a result, these Ostrich Leg skins are quite an expensive proposition.\u00a0 We, however, think that our customers will find that extra expense worth it.\u00a0 In addition to fully custom straps, we offer a limited selection of beautifully handcrafted Pre-made straps from this material in our Webshop in 22mm lug width<\/a><\/p>\n

Hulk Green Semi-Matte Ostrich Leg: (NEW!<\/span>):<\/h3>\n

Our Newly arrived ‘Hulk’ green Ostrich Leg skins are (as many of our Ostrich Leg skin offerings) bespoke tanned for us by our Italian tannery partner and were colored to match the wonderful green of the Rolex ‘Hulk’ and ‘Kermit’ submariner models, but will also work great with a number of straps with green details or dials.\u00a0 We had been getting more requests for this color and so have had this beautiful color made in response.\u00a0 I’m super pleased with the results.\u00a0 The depth of color and the durability of the finish is ideal for watch straps:<\/p>\n

I\u2019m very happy to share with you these newly created \u2018Cigar\u2019 Brown Ostrich<\/strong><\/em> Leg skins.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been hunting for a nice deep brown Ostrich Leg skin for a while now without finding just the right one.\u00a0 And so, I\u2019ve decided to give it a go myself, and here are the happy results.\u00a0 I cut our Ostrich straps on an angle that I find offers the best and most interesting look starting with pebble grain at the lug, transitioning to the large shin scales in the upper portion of the strap, and then transitioning back to pebble grain at the buckle interface.\u00a0 In addition to fully custom straps, we offer a limited selection of beautifully handcrafted Pre-made straps from this material in our Webshop in 20mm lug width<\/a><\/p>\n

Tobacco Ostrich Leg<\/strong><\/em> skin is the deeper Darker version of the ‘Cigar Brown’ Ostrich leg referenced just above and this was the original forbearer.\u00a0 This is a very dark brown indeed having a much drier (less Red tones) color.\u00a0 I’ve been offering this color for years and it’s become one of our perennial favorites.<\/p>\n

Martinique Bleu Ostrich<\/strong><\/em> is one of the few tannages of Ostrich Leg skin that our premium Alligator Tannery ‘France Croco<\/strong><\/em><\/span>‘ has done.\u00a0 These were prototypes for one of their very large luxury leather goods manufacture customers and we were lucky enough to get our hands on these extremely limited supply<\/strong><\/em> Ostrich Leg skins.\u00a0 Needless to say, there will be no possibility for a re-stock.\u00a0 If you like this color for your custom strap project you should contact us right away.<\/p>\n

Hot Pink<\/strong><\/em> is a beautifully tanned color with white low lights very similar to our Monaco Blue, and Ocean blue tannages with a soft hand and a waxy finish.\u00a0 While I have not yet made a strap from this color, I think I have only one or perhaps two hides of this color and so at most can only make four or five straps.\u00a0 If you like the color of your custom strap project, please don’t hesitate, because I don’t expect I will be able to re-stock this color in the future.<\/p>\n
