France Croco Alligator skins in stock. We at Dangerous9straps are committed to building the very finest handmade and hand-stitched Alligator Watch straps available throughout the world. Naturally, we have sought out the very finest Alligators Tannery in the world to supply us with our Alligator hides. France Croco is a Normandy-based Alligator and Crocodile tannery whose hides are among the best available and was recently acquired by Kering (formerly PPR) a holding company that owns such brands as Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Sergio Rossi, and Girard-Perregaux. We are proud to have France Croco as a supply partner enabling us to offer the finest Alligator skin available. The colors and overall quality of the France Croco skins are the best I’ve yet seen.
Many one of a Kind skins:
Once or twice yearly we travel to the Milan, Italy warehouse of France Croco to rummage through their current stock of hides and to pick the best colors and finishes for our upcoming year. Many of these Alligator Hides, are one of a kind, and so as a result, we may only ever be able to offer 10 to 12 straps of these particular colors. So, while some colors/finishes such as our SuperMatte Carbon Black and Tourbe Brune are usually available, many of the others of these hides represent overruns from batches made for larger luxury goods makers, prototypes, and showpieces used for display at leather trade fairs, etc. Of course, the upside for our customers is that their straps made from these limited availability color and finish makes their straps vanishingly rare. The downside for us is that a color/finish that is in much higher demand, remains unfulfilled. The lesson for our customers is that if you see a color/finish in our France Croco Alligator collection that you like, don’t hesitate to make your order right away, or it may be gone forever.
SuperMatte Carbon Black Alligator:
The SuperMatte Carbon American Alligator is a really awesome material and part of our premium France Croco skins collection. These hides have an extraordinary true matte finish, which reflects very little light and which as become a perennial favorite material.

Grigio-Verde (Grey-Green):
France Croco Alligator skins in current stock – Grigio-Verde (Grey-Green) Alligator -Our newest color offering from France Croco, when we were sent photos of these amazing hides, I knew that we have found something special. These hides are a near-perfect combination of Grey and Olive drab. The color finish and dye quality have an amazing waxiness that our Tourbe Brune also offers but in this totally fresh colorway. I low light it looks to be an Olive Drab or even the color of Jade Stone and in bright lighting, it reflects more of its grey tones, that combined with the lighter color between the scales (this is another feature that our Tourbe Brune offers), gives these hides a totally upscale look that quite honestly is impossible to beat. I’m really excited to build my first strap from this premium material!

Chocolate Noir Alligator (New):
Our Chocolate Noir is a deep brown Alligator that is the newest deep brown Alligator addition. If you are looking for a rich deep brown Alligator, for your custom straps this is a great opportunity. The color is actually a more uniform deep brown color than our Tourbe Brune Alligator. I was only able to get my hands on 2 of these colors, which should be enough for 20-25 straps, so if you’re interested please don’t hesitate.

Tourbe Brune Alligator: (VERY LIMITED STOCK!)
What can I say about Tourbe Brune Alligator but that I think it is one of the great brown Alligator tannages of the world, with rich grey/brown tones with wonderful color variations within the scales, and my preferred lighter tones in between the scales. This is by far our best-selling brown of any exotic material and I hope that we can continue to source this color from our friends at France Croco for years to come!

Nubuck Espresso Alligator (Almost sold out!):
Nubuck Espresso is a wonderful deep brown Alligator with a Sueded finish, which I think will make for beautiful straps! I was only able to get my hands on 1 of these colors, which should be enough for 10-12 straps, so if you’re interested please don’t hesitate. – I am very nearly sold out of this hide!
Bamboo Nile Crocodile(I have just received a re-stock!):
Our Bamboo (this one is a Nile Crocodile) is a very light beige with a very nice waxy finish and makes for a wonderfully sophisticated strap. I had been looking for a very light tan/beige color alligator hide for a while when I struck paydirt, finding this one-of-a-kind hide on a visit to France Croco’s Milan warehouse. Being one-of-a-kind hide, I will be unlikely to have the opportunity to purchase more, so if you would like a strap, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Acid Bleu Alligator:
Not for the faint of heart, our Acid Blue is one of our most unique hides, which in some light conditions looks for all the world like an Antique wash denim blue and in other light conditions looks like an antique washed purple! This incredible finish is only something that the genius leather tanners from France Croco are capable of achieving!

Vintage Cognac Alligator: (currently sold out)
Vintage Cognac has become one of our most requested colors. First delivered to us in a darker color, which we have very little left, and later on a lighter color, which too has nearly sold out.

Darker Vintage Cognac:
Pearlescent White: Pure White and Ivory White Alligator:
These hides come in two different iterations: Pure White Pearlescent (on the left above) with more of a matte finish and White/Ivory Pearlescent (on the right above) with a bit shinier finish. Both look great with white dial watches and depending on which you prefer would look great as well with any number of other dial colors such as Blue, Champaign, Silver, Grey, Brown, etc. Also, as you can see by the attached photo, I also like them when combined with our Metallic Gold or Silver thread but I think it could look just as striking with a colored thread if that color is featured in your watch.

Pearlescent Pure White:
Starry Night – Pearlescent Mid-Night Blue Alligator:
Very difficult to capture in photographs, our Starry Night – Pearlescent Mid-Night Blue Alligator is very dark blue – nearly and easily mistaken black in low, it really comes into its own in brighter light where the deep mid-night blue and pearlescent finish becomes more discernable.

Dark Olive: (very nearly sold out!):
Dark Olive Alligator (Nearly sold out!):
Dark Olive is one of my favorite colors. A deep Olive/Army color, this strap will look fantastic paired with black, brown, and cream color dial watches and I think combines spectacularly with black PVD and Black DLC watches.

Pearlescent Baby Pink (NEW!)and Baby Blue Alligators:
These lovely Alligator hides were purchased on a lark and feature a beautiful pearlescent baby Blue and baby Pink and like our Pure White Pearlescent referenced higher up on this page, have more of a matte finish, which my wife fell in love with. I have made a handful of straps from the Baby Blue, but the Baby Pink has not been cut into as yet, so if you hurry, you might have first cut!

Etain Gris Alligator (Very nearly sold out!):
Etain Gris or ‘Pewter Grey’ is a beautifully soft tannage with a shiny finish and a bit of black antiquing between the scales which gives the Grey a great vintage Pewter color.

Azure Bleu Alligator: (Almost Gone!):
Azur Bleu in a really great medium French Royal blue with just the smallest hint of an Azur (grey-green) tone. I have only portions of the upper tail of this hide remaining which offers a bit more character than the smoother finish of the belly section

Armagnac Alligator:
Our Armagnac Alligator is a color I love. Very similar to our Caramel d’Or Alligator referred to above, but with a bit more color intensity and a bit less golden color between the scales. The best depiction of the difference is the photo at the header of this page.
