My passion for many years has been making handmade leather watch straps. In the Mid-2000s, having taken up the hobby of watch collecting, I soon determined to try my hand at watch straps. I, having enjoyed the hobby of leatherworking since my early 20s, making watch straps was a natural addition. In 2011, our family decided to move to my wife’s home country of Germany and at that time we founded Dangerous9straps as a fulltime business.

Every day, I strive to make the very best watch straps for my customers. Entirely handmade and stitched by myself, I consider them to be little unique works of art, each one being made by me to bring joy to my customer.  In my work, I am driven to explore new ways, especially in terms of construction and layering.  All the structural support for our custom straps comes from leather without the help of metal or plastic inserts which are prone to put stress on the exterior leather and eventually break down the surrounding material.

We take pride that our straps are hand-cut and burnished. Then hand saddle stitched using French linen threads. Every stage of the strap making process described above is done by hand with incredible attention to detail.

My goal is to produce the very best watch straps possible by using natural elements: To find these leathers my wife and I regularly travel to Italy and France.  We also work with our suppliers and their tanneries to procure the most sophisticated leathers possible as well as develop new custom finishes and colors
