Custom Straps made from Teju Lizard – Teju Lizard are grown to become one of our most popular materials we offer, I think even eclipsing American Alligator in terms of demand. And it’s not hard to understand why, it’s got a great scale pattern that is unmistakably Exotic while at the same time looking totally distinct from the larger Alligator scales. Also, the smaller square scales of Teju Lizard to my eye looks very sporty (especially in our very popular SuperMatte Finishes) and at the same time have a very vintage style (such as our Sport Rust color). Additionally, the small scales look very good with the small detailed watch dials of many watches – I think Teju Lizard looks especially great when paired with Chronograph dials and the detailed dial of Audemars Piquet Royal Oak watches, etc. Below is a selection of some of our most popular straps make from our currently in-stock Teju Lizard skins:

SuperMatte Carbon Black Teju Lizard straps:
With a fully SuperMatte finish, our Carbon Black has without question become one of our very best sellers. With a very sporty look, it can be made to really pop with options such as Double Row stitching, Rally holes and colorful contrast color lining options

Racing Tan Teju Lizard:
Racing Tan is as you can see from these photos a beautiful light tan color perfect for a sporty watch where a light color strap is desired. It will look great with just about any watch and is just a classic color:

Straps made from Walnut Teju Lizard:
Walnut is a really grea medium brown color which looks great with sport as well as dress watches. This tannage has a waxed finish with just a bit of shine that our customer seem to love:

Straps made from Darkened Walnut Teju Lizard:
Our Darkened Walnut Teju Lizard as the name implies, uses our Walnut Teju Lizard as a jumping off point to creat a darker, even more character filled color. This is a hand-rubbed finish created by me in our Munich workshop, making each of of these straps even more unique:

Straps made from Steel Blue:
Steel blue Teju like most of our Teju Lizard skins is a color that is bespoke tanned by our Italian tannery partners to our exact color specifications it’s not a natural unsealed semi-matte finish that I think is perfect for watch straps. the blue is bright without being garish with great color variations within and between the scales (this is the hallmarks of great exotic leather tanning. The Steel Blue also can be dyed to achieve for example our Midnight blue as well.

Straps made from Baltic SuperMatte Teju Lizard:
Baltic Blue SuperMatte has in short order become one of our most requested materials not just for the outside strap material as featured here, but also because of its softness, great look and the relative moisture resistance of the SuperMatte finish, as a lining leather as well it has proven so popular that we have recently released a complimentary Navy SuperMatte Teju as well. For now, these are some of the many straps well have made from this excellent Lizard:

Straps made from Commando Grey SuperMatte Teju Lizard:
Commando Grey SuperMatte Teju Lizard, like most of the SuperMatte offings we have introduced at found a very receptive market. The color is a really great, medium/dark and it offers a great matte finish which our customers love. Of course, like all of our SuperMatte finish Teju Lizards it had also become very popular for use as a lining leather as well because of its softness, and the relative moisture resistance of the SuperMatte finish, and of course, it just looks very cool!

Straps made from Vintage Dakar Teju Lizard:
Our Vintage Dakar Teju Lizard is a heavily waxed pullup style leather that is a really unique finish for use in terms of Teju Lizard skins. The result a leather that show a tremenous amount of vintage character and color variation. Bend it and it lightens, scratch it lightly and it will show the mark, but if will rubb away by rubbing a dab of moisture and a few strokes of your finger. Frankly, it one of the coolest new tannages we had added recently, not just in our Teju Lizard collection, but of all our leather collections. Of course, it’s in very limited supply:

Straps Made from Tobacco Teju Lizard:
Tobacco Teju Lizard is currently the darkest brown Teju tannages we offer. like most of our Teju Lizards, this is a bespoke finish from our Italian tannery partner. Its got a medium shine finish to start, which will with wear become more matte over time. It’s a true classic!

Straps made from Red SuperMatte Teju Lizard:
Our Red SuperMatte Teju Lizard has been, so far most popular used as a lining leather. However, as you can see it also works very well at ths primary strap leather as well and I’m hoping that showing this strap off a bit, more of our customers will come to appreciate this as well (Thanks to my great customer Paul for taking these great photos of this strap on his very cool Enzo Mechana watch!):

Sadly, I’ve not yet had any requests to use our Emergency Orang SuperMatte Teju Lizard for the outside of a strap! Which given this fabulous color is really a shame. As a result, I’ve chosen to feature here straps where it’s been used as a lining leather, which of course, like all of our SuperMatte finish Teju Lizards it had also become very popular for use as a lining leather as well because of its softness, and the relative moisture resistance of the SuperMatte finish, and of course, it just looks very cool!

In addition to all the great colors we offer Teju Lizard reference above, we also stock undyed Teju Lizard skins so that if you would like a custom color, it’s typcially just a matter of providing a color sample of a description of the color you are looking for and we’ll be off to the races in developing a color sample for you.
