French Milled Linen thread:

Our French Milled threads  – Fil Au Chinois Cable’ Linen Thread is perhaps the most famous threads in the world and is really the finest available linen and the choice for all premium handmade leather goods.  Manufacturers such as Hermes use these threads on their hand stitch bags, so you know it’s the very best you can buy.  And while I could by nylon thread for a very small fraction of the price, this would not be in keeping with Dangerous9straps ethos of making straps using only the very best materials available.

Fine Gauge No. 632 French Milled Threads:

My preference is for their finer gauge thread No. 632 – .51mm thickness (shown here) for most of our straps, especially Exotic leather straps, although on thicker more rugged straps such and Ammo leather or straps featuring Tribal stitching,  I recommend heavy gauge No. 332 or our medium gauge No. 432, 4 ply Irish Waxed Linen or German mill Linen threads.

These Fil Au Chinois Cable’ Linen Threads are of the same amazingly high quality linen as our Fine Gauge French Milled thread but have been milled slightly thicker (0.63mm thickness) and are more approprate to thicker leather and Swiss Ammo style straps as well as for use for Tribal stitching, which benefits from thicker gauge threads:

Heavy Gauge French Milled Linen Threads:

These Fil Au Chinois Cable’ Linen Threads are of the same amazingly high quality linen as our Fine and medium gauge French milled thread but have been milled even thicker (0.77mm thickness) and are more approprate to very thick leather and Swiss Ammo style straps for larger watches such as Panerai and Bell & Ross as well as for use for Tribal stitching, which benefits from thicker gauge threads:

Medium/heavy gauge German Milled threads:

These threads are also very high quality and come in a variety of great colors.  The thickness of this thread is between our French milled No.332 and No. 432 and so is perfect for thickner Leather and Swiss Ammo straps and for use for Tribal Stitching, where a thicker thread is desired.

Irish Milled Waxed Linen Threads:

These are heavily waxed rether rustic thread options compared with our French and German milled theads, however the 3 strand twist is still relatively fine and can be used for all but the very finest of exotic leather straps, the 4 strand twist is about the same thickness as out heavy gauge No. 332 French Milled threads and so are better deployed for larger, thicker straps:
