Customer Showcase: A Long Overdue Thank You to Phil
Custom Straps for Franck Muller Color Dreams – Every so often, I come across a set of customer photos that stop me in my tracks—and today’s feature is one I should have shared a long time ago. A huge shout-out and apology to my wonderful customer Phil, who a few years ago commissioned a pair of straps for his wife’s Franck Muller Color Dreams diamond watch. He kindly sent me some truly lovely photos once the straps were installed, but in the hustle of day-to-day work, I somehow never managed to post them here on the blog.
Phil, thank you for your patience—and I hope you agree it’s better late than never!
A Colorful Watch Deserves Colorful Straps
The Franck Muller Color Dreams is already a show-stopping timepiece, with its playful rainbow numerals and dazzling diamond bezel. Phil’s goal was to accentuate that vibrancy with straps that would match his wife’s unique and joyful style. Together, we settled on two standout materials from our collection at the time—both of which, sadly, have since sold out.
Strap 1: Baby Blue Pearlescent Alligator
The first strap was crafted from a delicate yet eye-catching Baby Blue Pearlescent Alligator, a shimmering pastel leather that changes beautifully in the light. This rare skin had just the right amount of iridescence to complement the whimsical tones of the watch dial without overpowering it. With matching linen thread and our standard light tan kidskin lining, the result was a strap that felt refined, feminine, and perfectly at home on the wrist.
Strap 2: Racing Yellow Sharkskin
The second strap is quite the contrast—a bold and sporty Racing Yellow Sharkskin. While more aggressive in color, it somehow manages to work harmoniously with the watch’s playful character. Sharkskin, with its fine texture and durability, offered a more casual vibe, yet still looked right at home next to the Color Dreams’ diamonds and flamboyant numerals. As with the Alligator strap, this one also features hand-stitched matching linen thread and light tan kidskin lining for comfort and longevity.
Rare Materials, Timeless Appeal
Both of these leather options—Baby Blue Pearlescent Alligator and Racing Yellow Sharkskin—are now sold out, and sadly, I don’t expect to restock them. However, these straps remain an inspiring example of how the right materials, colors, and craftsmanship can elevate a watch from beautiful to absolutely bespoke. I’m incredibly grateful to Phil for sharing these images—and I’m only sorry it’s taken me this long to share them with all of you.
