A Local Client’s Horological Gem
H. Moser Pioneer on Ostrich Leg Strap – It’s always a pleasure to work with local clients, and this project for Daniel was no exception. His timepiece of choice—the H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Mega Cool Blue Lagoon—is one of the most visually arresting watches we’ve had the pleasure of pairing a strap with. With its bold blue-green fumé dial and signature minimalism, this Pioneer model truly lives up to the “Mega Cool” moniker. It’s a watch that effortlessly bridges the gap between sporty functionality and refined design—something Moser does better than almost anyone.
The Pioneer series itself was born from H. Moser’s desire to create a more robust, everyday wearable watch without sacrificing the unique aesthetic and haute horlogerie DNA the brand is known for. And the Blue Lagoon dial, in my opinion, is arguably the most beautiful dial I’ve ever seen on any watch. It dances between teal, turquoise, and marine blue depending on the light, with a fumé gradient that gives the whole piece incredible depth and character. Highland Grey Ostrich Leg Strap: Handcrafted for the Mega Cool
H. Moser Pioneer on Ostrich Leg strap – For a dial this special, we knew a standard strap wouldn’t suffice. Daniel opted for a bespoke Highland Grey Ostrich leg skin strap, one of our favorite exotic leathers for its bold scale pattern and luxurious texture. This strap is anything but ordinary. It features our signature padding at the lugs, giving the strap both volume and visual strength. And of course, we integrated our exclusive TCLS (Thick Curved Lug System)—a Dangerous9straps hallmark—which delivers a seamless and perfectly sculpted fit between the lugs, elevating the overall silhouette of the watch on the wrist.
Finishing Details: Stitching and Lining That Make the Difference
To tie everything together (literally), we used Peacock Blue French-milled linen thread for our superfine hand saddle stitching. This thread was selected specifically to complement the mesmerizing tones of the Blue Lagoon dial, and the result is nothing short of striking. As always, every stitch is done entirely by hand for durability and artisanal flair.
On the underside, the strap is lined with our incredibly supple and tough black Kangaroo gloving leather, featuring a subtle “Clone” texture for a touch of understated luxury. This lining ensures all-day comfort and long-term durability—even with frequent wear.
