Introducing Crown Quill Ostrich – I am very excited to introduce our newest exotic skins collection for your custom watch strap pleasure. Ostrich Leather has been used as a staple of haute couture products most notably luxury handbags, wallets, fine shoes, and naturally, watch straps. We love it for its strong, soft, and very durable leather quality with just the right amount of shine.
It shows a cheerful and distinctive patterning of bumps(quills follicles) spread across a smooth field of varying leather densities. Tanning this leather requires an intricate, specialized, and expensive production process. Please be aware that each strap custom strap will feature a different quill pattern making each strap unique. If you would like your strap made with more quills, closer together or with fewer quills, farther apart, please let me know, I am happy to accommodate your needs to the extent possible.
I have begun with four colors of leather, but do expect to add more as need demands and so if you have an interest in another color, please let me know and I will check with our supplier to see what they have available:
Ostrich Crown Quill – Army Green, Tabac, and Enzo Red
On a whim, we asked our supplier if they had any smaller Ostrich Crown Quill hides suitable for watch straps, and they delivered in style. These beauties—available in Army Green, Tabac (a rich safari brown), and Flame Red—are ideal for our work, as the quill pattern is more tightly spaced, which is essential on smaller items like straps (as opposed to shoes or handbags where larger quill spacing works better).
Army Green: A perfect match for military-inspired watches—think the Breitling Aviator 8 Curtiss Warhawk or Panerai’s PAM735, PAM736, PAM737, PAM760, and the iconic Bronzo.
Military Green Ostrich Crown Quill Tabac: A neutral, earthy tone that pairs effortlessly with nearly any timepiece. It would look especially sharp on a white or cream dial—imagine it on a Rolex Polar Explorer or the Audemars Piguet Safari.
Tabac Ostrich Crown Quill Enzo Red: A bold, vibrant hue ideal for sports watches featuring red accents or design elements. It’s energetic, eye-catching, and unapologetically stylish.
Black Ostrich Quill:
With just a bit of shine to show off the wonderfully textured leather and quills, I could hardly introduce a new line of exotics without having a great black option. This classic color has already been introduced it into our Manufacture collection in 20mm with White, Orange, and Grey stitching.
Mink Ostrich Quill:
This wonderful Grey-Brown color can be is super neutral for those that love a more subtly colored strap. This can also be dyed to a darker Chocolate brown as well:
Khaki Ostrich Quill:
Is a great-looking sand color with touches of deep brown streaking as it transitions to the outside of the hide. I love this color so much that I had already introduced it into our Manufacture collection in 20mm with White, Orange, and Grey stitching. I’ve been wearing one with grey stitching for a couple of months now and have been extremely please with its beauty and durability:
Cognac Ostrich Quill:
This stunning color is a real classic, we could hardly introduce Ostrich Quill without its inclusion.
