Custom Strap for Nicolas’s Atowak Cosmofleet with Green Accents
Black Nubuck Alligator for Atowak Cosmofleet – We’re excited to share a recent custom strap project for Nicolas’s unique Atowak Cosmofleet, a watch that is as bold in design as it is in functionality. Atowak is known for its avant-garde approach to watchmaking, and the Cosmofleet is no exception. Inspired by futuristic aesthetics, the Cosmofleet features a wandering hour display housed in a distinctive, multi-layered case. The angular lugs and green accents on the watch perfectly set the stage for an equally exceptional custom strap.
The Strap Design: Black Nubuck Alligator Elegance
For this project, we used our Black Nubuck Alligator leather from our Premium France Croco Alligator Collection—one of the finest leathers in our inventory. This leather has a velvety matte texture, offering a subtle sophistication that pairs beautifully with the bold design of the Cosmofleet. The nubuck finish enhances the depth of the black, creating a rich, tactile surface that contrasts with the watch’s metallic elements while maintaining a refined look.
The lug shape of the Cosmofleet presented a fun challenge, given its unique cutouts and angles. Nicolas was kind enough to send the original OEM strap, which served as a perfect template for ensuring a precise fit. This level of detail guarantees that the strap integrates seamlessly with the watch’s case, providing both form and function.
Superfine Hand Stitching and Custom Lining
Every detail matters when crafting a custom strap at Dangerous9straps, and this strap was no exception. We used superfine hand saddle stitching with black French-milled linen thread, which complements the nubuck alligator while adding durability and visual balance. The hand-stitched finish is a signature of our straps, ensuring that each piece is as strong as it is beautiful.
Green Nappa Kangaroo leather, chosen to match the green accents of the Cosmofleet. Nappa Kangaroo is an ideal lining material—luxuriously soft, yet incredibly durable and sweat-resistant. The pop of green on the lining not only adds a hidden touch of color but also creates a cohesive connection with the watch’s design.
