Dark Chocolate Sharkskin Bund Strap on PAM243 – This strap was handmade in our Munich workshop for my customer’s Panerai PAM219 Destro, however, when it was completed, I took the opportunity to mount it to my Panerai PAM243 to check the fitment and to snap these photos to share with you. Of course, even though the PAM219 is a Destro watch (with the crown and crown protector on the left-hand side of the watch, this can be fitted to the right-hand crown PAM243, simply by reversing the bund underlayment.
Made from our Hand-finish Dark Choco My customer wanted the strap as water-tolerant as possible, so while I don’t guarantee any of our straps to be waterproof, I built his strap with some very special features to offer the most water resistance possible:
- The strap has been upgraded with our highly water-tolerant sharkskin outer AND lining.
- Instead of using our customary vegetable-tanned leather as mid-layer and padding, I have built this strap using waterproof Cork leather as a mid-lay and padding.
- Stitch with matching chocolate French-mill thread, but this time milled from Nylon instead of our usual Linen, this thread, I think will be more resistant to moisture.
As you can see this strap was made with a specially designed Asymmetrical bund underlayment following the shape of this 44mm Panerai together with its trademarked crown protector. This strap is the twin of a strap made with the same features for a customer’s Panerai PAM507 Bronzo Submersible,
