Hi all you wonderful strap lovers out there! I’m really happy to announce the completion of my very first Swiss Ammo strap! I’ve got to say I was a little intimidated to build this prototype, as some of the ammo straps that I’ve seen from other strap makers are very nice. I also had some technical challenges with getting the right glue, as this leather is wax dipped and most glues don’t work well. Additionally, the leather is very thick at over 3mms, and in order to make it usable for straps must be skived down to about 2mms. Anyway, it took me a few weeks to work out these issues and build my first prototype. And I must say it turned out even better that I had hoped.
