Hi Strap lovers. I was so happy to receive these jaw dropping photos from Ingo of FineWatchBuckles.com of his newly arrived Deep Blue Shark Skin strap paired with his amazing Blue-Green fossilized Mammoth Ivory buckle. Ingo Woesner handcraft these and other wonderful buckles from Exotic woods and a number of other really cool material such as horn, etc. If you’ve not taken the opportunity to check out his work I strongly recommend you follow this link. If you’re having or have had us build you a custom strap, I can’t think of a better way to compliment it than with a unique hand made buckle from FineWatchBuckles.com. These buckles reflect the care and attention to detail that is the hallmark of German craftsmanship. Ingo’s beautful buckle has been matched with a handmade Damascus steel bolt made by famous Austrian Strap and Buckle maker Ingomar Gaksch of Maddog Straps, this strap, buckle and bolt combination represents single minded passion 3 men who’s talents that is pretty unique.
I just want to add some additional background on this Blue-Green Mammoth Ivory: This Ivory is estimated to be about 15,000 years old. The Blue-Green color created while the ivory has been in contact with minerals in the soil during the thousands of years it’s been in or on the ground. The color is all natural and in the intense color shown here is in extremely limited supply, is precious and each buckle made from it in entirely one of a kind.
I am very happy to say that this strap is made for a new Kaventsmann Uhren watch model called ‘Acropora’, which will when pair with the watch represent the work myself as well of three really wonderful craftsman that I admire greatly and am extremely honored to be associated with.
