The result is a custom Tudor Black Bay 58 strap that combines rich, hand-finished Italian Kangaroo leather with carefully considered details throughout. Incas Mahogany Kangaroo Leather
The star of this strap is our Incas Mahogany Kangaroo leather, an Italian-tanned Kangaroo hide distinguished by its beautiful hand-rubbed finish. The leather has a wonderfully tactile character, with subtle variations in the surface that give the strap a depth and warmth that perfectly complements the vintage-inspired character of the Black Bay 58.
Kangaroo leather is also exceptionally strong and lightweight, making it an excellent material for a watch strap that is designed not only to look beautiful but to be worn and enjoyed and that will develop a wonderful patina over time
A Perfectly Integrated Fit
At the lugs, we have added substantial padding and our Thick Curved Lug System (TCLS) to create a beautifully integrated transition between the Tudor case and the strap.
I particularly like the way TCLS works with the Black Bay 58. The Tudor’s relatively tall lug profile gives the case a substantial presence, and the curved construction of the strap follows that profile naturally rather than simply filling the space between the lugs. The result is a more cohesive appearance that makes the strap feel like it belongs on the watch.
The strap is also deliberately untapered at 20mm throughout its length, giving it a substantial and wonderfully balanced presence on the wrist that suits the robust character of the Black Bay 58.
Made to Fit
This finished strap is made to a 125/80mm length, designed to comfortably accommodate wrists measuring approximately 16.7cm to 20cm.
Because this is a finished strap available for immediate purchase, the dimensions have been carefully chosen to provide a generous range of wrist fit while maintaining the proportions and presence of the design.
Vintage Ecru Meets Tudor Gilt Details
For the stitching, we chose our superfine hand saddle stitching in Vintage Ecru. This warm, understated thread color is an especially good match for the gilt hands and dial printing of the Black Bay 58.
Inside, the strap is lined with our incredibly soft yet extremely durable Red Nappa Kangaroo leather. The red lining provides a wonderful hidden detail—and, when viewed from the side, subtly echoes the red triangle of the Tudor’s bezel pip.
Finally, we fitted the strap with our brushed D9 logo pin buckle, whose understated finish complements both the Tudor case and the rich Mahogany leather without competing for attention.
