Hi Strap Lovers! Rare Alligator & Nile Crocodile Leathers Arrive! – I’m delighted to introduce two gorgeous new exotic leather hides that have just arrived at the Dangerous9straps workshop here in Munich, Germany. Joining our Veneto Alligator/Crocodile Collection are a beautiful Rich Tan Alligator and an equally stunning Cognac Nile Crocodile. The hides from the super-premium Italven Pelli Tannery based Santa Croce Sull’Arno, Italy
Both leathers feature wonderfully natural finishes, a luxuris waxy hand, and one of my favorite characteristics of beautifully finished exotic leather: the lighter coloration between the individual scales that really brings the natural texture to life.
There’s just one catch: I was only able to secure a single hide in each color! So, if either of these gorgeous leathers catches your eye, I strongly recommend getting in touch sooner rather than later.
Cognac Nile Crocodile – Warm, Rich, and Full of Character
Our new Cognac Nile Crocodile is an absolute beauty!
This exceptional hide features a wonderfully warm cognac coloration, with subtle variations in tone that give the leather tremendous depth and character.
What I particularly love about this Nile Crocodile is its beautifully natural finish. Rather than having a heavily pigmented or artificially uniform appearance, the individual scales are wonderfully defined by the lighter coloration between them.
The leather also has a lovely waxy hand, giving it a rich, luxurious feel while allowing the natural beauty of the crocodile skin to shine through.
I can already imagine this leather making a spectacular bespoke crocodile watch strap, particularly when paired with Vintage Ecru linen stitching and our Classic Tan Kidskin lining.
Rich Tan Alligator – Timeless Elegance with a Natural Finish
Our second arrival is an equally beautiful Rich Tan Alligator, featuring a classic warm tan coloration that I think will appeal to lovers of traditional luxury watch straps.
Like the Cognac Nile Crocodile, this gorgeous alligator hide has a wonderfully waxy hand and a natural finish that emphasizes the individual scale patterns.
Once again, it’s those beautiful lighter tones between the scales that really catch my eye, providing a subtle contrast that highlights the extraordinary natural texture of genuine alligator leather.
This is exactly the sort of leather that makes an elegant custom alligator watch strap, whether paired with a vintage-inspired dress watch or a modern sports watch.
Handcrafted Exotic Leather Watch Straps from Dangerous9straps
Both of these beautiful new hides are now available for bespoke watch strap commissions through our Veneto Alligator/Crocodile Collection.
As always, each Dangerous9straps custom watch strap is individually handcrafted in our Munich workshop, with your choice of stitching, lining, edge finishing, padding, and buckle or deployant clasp.
Extremely Limited Availability – Just One Hide of Each!
Now, here’s something important to keep in mind: I was only able to secure ONE hide of the Cognac Nile Crocodile and ONE hide of the Rich Tan Alligator.
While each hide can yield several beautiful custom watch straps, once the available leather has been spoken for, that’s it! I have no guarantee that I’ll be able to source either of these exact colors and finishes again.
